temporary awards
a valuable lesson was learned today.
competitions are fun, no doubt. it's a great way to figure out where u are and how well you've done and to see your hard work pay off. it's an awesome experience to compete against friends and support each other, no matter what the results turn out to be.
but sometimes, winning really isn't everything. you win some and you lose some and some people will be better than you. but the point here is that, trophies and adjudicators don't know you. they don't know how hard you work, how much you've improved, how often you practice. they don't know that.
never rely on trophies to tell you how much you've improved. only you can see that for yourself. you know yourself better than any of those judges.
whatever you learn in practice, can carry on for the rest of your life.
trophies? well, if they're not returned for the next winner, they just sit on your shelf don't they?
